Let's summarize this in one post. Below are things that do work and things that don't work when it comes to sub-50 PvP.
-------------------------------------------------------------- Things you do *want*: -------------------------------------------------------------- - Anything that gives you elemental resistance, like resistance to fire etc. - Anything that gives you a boost to your critical, both chance and damage modifiers are good. That includes Mundus effects like "The Thief" and "The Shadow". - Anything that gives you critical hit resistance. - Anything that gives you armor and spell penetration. - Anything that gives you armor and spell resistance. - Anything that increases weapon attack speed. - Anything that increases movement speed. - Any passive that gives you a percentage increase for something, like 2% more damage etc. Armor Impenetrable Uses Diamond. Increase resistance to critical hits by x. Reinforced Uses Sardonix. Increase total armor and spell resistance by x%. Well-fitted Uses Almandine. Reduces the cost of sprinting by x%. Infused Uses Bloodstone. Increase armor enchantment effect by x%. Divines Uses Sapphire. Increase Mundus Stone effects by x%. Weapons Powered Uses Chysolite. Reduce cooldown of enchantments by x%. Charged Uses Amethyst. Increase enchantment charges by x%. Precise Uses Ruby. Increase weapon and spell critical values by x%. Infused Uses Jade. Increase weapon enchantment effect by x%. Defending Uses Turquoise. Increase total armor and spell resistance by x%. Sharpened Uses Fire Opal. Increases armor and spell penetration by x%. Weighted Uses Citrine. Increase weapon attack speed by x%. -------------------------------------------------------------- Things that are *useless*: -------------------------------------------------------------- - Armor buffs that increase your armor value. That includes "The Lady" Mundus effect(!). - Buffs that increase health/magicka/stamina. - Buffs that increase health/magicka/stamina regeneration. - Any passive that gives you a fixed amount of something, like +50 armor etc. Armor Sturdy Uses Quartz. x% chance to avoid dacay when defeated. Training Uses Emerald. Increase armor skill line XP with this armor type by x%. Exploration Uses Garnet. Increase exploration experience gained by x%. Weapons Training Uses Carnelian. Increase weapon skill line XP with this weapon type by x%. (IMG:style_emoticons/28/smile.gif) |

Might be good to have a "PvP Armor & Weapon" set and a "Leveling Armor & Weapon" set. I actually have 3 sets. One with exploration I wear to run through a zone when I first get there while exploring all the areas. One with Training on it to level my skills super fast while doing quests and such. Then a fighting one I wear in PvP or if I am fighting a really hard boss or something similar.

Yes, i plan to have a dedicated set for PvP and another set for PvE.
In PvE, i'll need all the additional armor value i can get. Of course, i won't hold it against any of you if you decide to wear full armor in PvE, but so far, i have been doing just fine with my limited wardrobe. (IMG:style_emoticons/28/shades.gif) |

Never! Naked is in the name and so it shall be. You may die more but it's a lot less armor to repair also.

So much good info! I did pretty well last night, to my surprise, not dying! We had some naked boss killing going on, and it was a blast. (IMG:style_emoticons/28/biggrin.gif)

I have never played any char other then Sorc, so I am used to practically no armor. I imagine its harder for those that are used to heavy armor.
I accidentally made my Naked Nord a DK but I am finding the change fun, especially since my main is also on EP. I just hit 10 on my main so I logged out for dinner. I'll jump on my Naked Nord later if anyone wants to group up. Otherwise I will work towards 10 |

Added a new reply instead of edit, I got to 7 on my Naked Nord buddying up with someone in my super tiny random guild, lol Every one needs at least 1 random guild right (IMG:style_emoticons/28/beerchug.gif)
So I am closer to naked Pvp. But if you guys want to get started earlier, my birthday suite breton, aka my main is now 10 and more then willing to try some naked PvP! (IMG:style_emoticons/28/bootyshake.gif) |

I went and checked out Goldbrand tonight, it's pretty much all red (EP).
Not sure how much fun that will be, i really hope we have some more AD and DC show up... (IMG:style_emoticons/28/dry.gif) On the upside, i claimed Arrius Keep Farm for T.S.O. so we now have a open guild store there. (IMG:style_emoticons/28/biggrin.gif) How about we come up with a time & date that everyone can agree on and just start running around? Weekends are better than weekdays for me but I am occasionally on weekdays in the later afternoon/evening time for small random amounts of time.
For weekends I have no plans so if we do something then I can plan around it. |

On the upside, with EP being so dominant right now, all the other faction gates are open and we could sneak inside and get the sky shards that are located there.
There's still plenty to do in Cyrodiil, we could finish some of the group dungeons and go on a Skyshard hunt ... (IMG:style_emoticons/28/idea.gif) |

I would love to go skyshard hunting, especially on my main since I use her for both crafting and playing. I am suffering a serious shortage of skill points.
I am on most days/evenings and sometimes on weekends. My playtime is between PST 10ish AM - 11ish PM so I am pretty flexible, I can also jump on if I am not online during those times if you guys do group up. Just use the @ here and I think it goes to my email. |

I am doing a full Cyrodiil skyshard hunt raid this weekend. It was initially intended for my main character though. I'll make an actual event for it soon.

(IMG:style_emoticons/28/idea.gif) @Jessabella @Lunachik @Bherdani @Negative @Imryll I've not been playing because I don't want to risk another brush with the bank bug. My EP character, dunmer templar Aranea Llethan, is currently level 7 so not too far from 10. While I'm extremely fond of her, my Argonian sorcerer Mudcrab Whisperer is destined not to save the world but to store foodstuffs--and farm Bleakrock's natural resources. In WoW it was possible for a character to reach max level farming herbs on the panda starter island. I'm mildly curious how high you can level just from opening chests in ESO. My characters frequently run from mobs, not because they fear being killed, but to avoid getting even more unwanted experience. I've played a bit with male Nord sliders, but haven't come up with a name or a character I wanted to play. However, if she's welcome, Aranea will be happy to remove her clothes at level 10--and to put them back on when a Nord is ready to take their place. |

As for experience from chests etc., i don't know how chest XP scales at higher levels, but i've been able to gain several levels just by doing chest runs in Bal Foyen. Great House Hlaalu has a PvP event tonight on Goldbrand, they're a EP guild and i plan to tag along with Thorwald.
I'm still just level 10 so i'm not sure exactly how useful i'll be but what the heck ... (IMG:style_emoticons/28/biggrin.gif) QUOTE Sorry for the short notice, but we will be holding a guild PvP event tonight (4/17) at 12pm EST. That's 11PM CST or 9PM on the West Coast. The goal is to reclaim Emperorship from the usurper dogs in the Daggerall covenant. If that is too late for you, know that there will be some guildies out prior to that. Feel free to head out early. This event is on the Guild Home Campaign of Goldbrand. |

So i joined GHH last night for some PvP action and i have to say that was a lot of fun.
Of course it helped to be part of a trained and organized group that actually knew what they were doing. First i thought i wouldn't be of much use for them at level 10 but i ended up playing support and whipped out my trusty old restoration staff. That turned out to be a good choice. I was able stay back a bit and keep up the healing and throw in a boatload of synergies and even got to use my ultimate a few times. Heck, i even managed to get a few kills of my own that weren't group based. (you get kill credit for all kills in your group) By the end of the night, we had all the center keeps and crowned a new (GHH) emperor! (IMG:style_emoticons/28/mueba.gif) |
